    DESCRIPTION

Named after the Barossa’s lifelong champion of old vines, Carl Lindner, Dandelion pick these Shiraz grapes from their Kinkora vineyard, in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Vine age is over over 100 years old, many planted on their original rootstock. Throughout the vineyards, the dandelion is encouraged to grow among the vines as it suppresses winter weeds and provides mulch in summer.

A relatively short time on the skins for a Shiraz, and with whole bunches in the fermentation process, before ageing in oak, and no filtration or fining before bottling. This gives an incredibly eclectic yet balanced wine - lively and bright but with concentrated dark fruit and spice.

Dandelion Vineyards is the venture of self-titled ‘typist’ Zar Brooks and his winemaking wife Elena, with wines made from the Barossa and Eden Valleys, Fleurieu, the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale.
