Ahhh Bordeaux, a lot of people think this region is the epitome of red wine production. In some cases maybe it is, but like any other wine region in the world, they're good and bad producers. In our experience, Bordeaux is one of the hardest regions to find value for money, mainly due to the fact of the famous tag that goes along with it. However, there are gems hidden amongst the many vineyards. Château Ségla is the second label of the Second Growth Château Rauzan-Ségla, what does that mean? Basically, it's their second-best wine that is more affordable than their first label.

What we have is a 2006 Margaux, which is the vintage after one of the most iconic years ever. Don't let that put you off, most critics, if you care, say that 2006 was an ok year and the key takeaway was that they need time to open up and age. So here we are! A sublime, perfectly aged Bordeaux that is actually great value.

The wine itself, it's dark ruby with a serious mature violet and dried herb nose. The palate is delicious and generous with a mix of aged dark red berries, dark chocolate, silky tannins, pencil lead, tobacco, rich and beautiful Margaux Cabernet in its secondary stage.
