Sklep58 Partyzán Pét-Nat Laurot 2019 hand-harvested off of 25 years old vines. Laurot is a super interesting crossbreed, created from another crossing of Merlot and Seibel, called Marlan. Then another crossing called Fratava, which is a crossing of Blaufrankisch and St. Laurent. Complicated I know.
Pét-Nat translates to naturally sparkling and is an ancient method of making sparkling wines. Fresh and fragrant with lots of red berries and currants. Crisp palate with red cherries and a lick of bread. Long scented finish and easy to drink. It is very lively! Advise opening it over a vessel in the kitchen sink...
Laurot grapes were destemmed and then foot stomped. The fresh juice is immediately transferred to demi-johns where fermentation kicks off naturally. It's then bottled while it's still fermenting to capture and seal in the fizz. Vegan friendly and no added sulfites.
