    DESCRIPTION

First thing's first - don't be alarmed by the colour of this rosé. Us Brits have been conditioned to believe all dark-pink rosés are the vitriolic sweet kinds that adorned park benches in our youth. This could not be further from the truth nowadays!

The reason for the darker colour here is a long, slow press of the grapes, meaning more colour is extracted from the skins. The juice itself is fresh, full of red berries and great as an aperitif.

Domaine Turenne is located in the heart of the "Golden Triangle" of Côtes de Provence, between Cuers and Pierrefeu (Var). It has been in the family since the beginning of the last century and now covers 20 hectares in AOC Côtes de Provence. For a while the grapes were sold to a co-operative, however Philippe and Cécile Benezet took over the estate in 1990, wishing to make their own wine. Come 1994 they had achieved this, with the creation of the cellar and the first vinification at the domain.
