Villa Fresca Frizzante NV essentially, Prosecco from Australia. As you may have previously read, Pizzini is an Italian Australian family making wines from Italian varieties in King Vally, Victoria. Part of there offering is Prosecco or Sparkling Glera.
Some fun facts. Prosecco is a village in Italy, but until recently it was also the name of the grape Glera. The name changed to protect The Italian region. In Australia though, Prosecco is still the grape name, this is because the name change took effect long after Aussies were planting and making Prosecco. So to them, it's still Prosecco. Confused yet?
Anyway, it's seriously good. Fruit forward, mouthwatering and fresh, everything you want in fizz really! Super floral on the aromas and crisp on the palate. The fragrant grapes are machine harvested and pressed. Fermented in stainless steel tanks for 14 days at a cool temperature. This helps ensure fresh and lively Prosecco characters. Charmat method happens next, then its fined, filtered and bottled. Simple really.
We're massive fans of these guys and they have some special wines that are totally banging and only available here. We managed to get our mitts on a 2009 Sangiovese, it's stellar. We have 12 bottles only!
