Terre à Terre Crayères Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is the eleventh release of this Australian classic. Fresh off the ship, imported direct and therefore exclusive to Plonk. The fruit is hand-harvested from close-spaced Crayères Vineyard and whole bunch pressed. The wine is then fermented in large old oak demi-muids. After that, it's chilled for two days before being whole-bunch pressed. Then the juice sees 2 months of cold settling in stainless tanks. Fermentation takes place in old French oak demi-muid and then aged on its on lees for a further 8 months.
2019 was a moderately warm and dry vintage. Close to 2016 in terms of average rainfall. Good rainfall in December brought relief but did interfere with flowering and fruit set, therefore, reducing yields. Temperatures post-véraison in February and March were on average for the region.
Terre à Terre Sauvignon Blanc shows characteristics of this vintage, with ripe fruit flavours, excellent texture and complex length. The 12-year-old vines from the Crayères Vineyard are coming into their own. Showing their potential to produce world-class wines of a delicate texture, balanced acidity and complex length.
Terre à Terre is at the forefront of French styled Aussie wine. In addition, you can expect that every bottle of Terre à Terre on our site, expresses quality and value for money in a restrained style not often seen coming out of Australia.
