Terrafusa Civetta 2017 a field blend of indigenous grapes from Sicily. Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante make up the blend. Like days of old in Sicily, the grapes are co-harvested and co-fermented. Minimal intervention and just enough sulphur to stabilise the wine allow the wine to truly show its regionality. Fermented in French oak barrels for 18 months, this helps add texture and complexity. Vibrant and juicy, however expressing an elegance due to the slight bottle ageing. Flavours of wild strawberries, black cherry and a lick of spice show on the aroma and palate. Overall, fantastic.
Almost double the volume of the Rose, but still, only 5000 bottles of Civetta produced. Dino's father an artist, designed the label. A prime example of small production wine.
