Bodegas Riojanas Monte Real Rioja Reserva 1982

Trust us when we say it's not every day that you see back vintages of this age. They are super rare and hard to come across and normally cost the same as a house deposit. This little beauty here is just unreal, Rioja back in 1982 is very different from what we experience today. With this bottle, we are being transported back to a time where Rioja was up and coming compared to other regions.

This is 100% Tempranillo from Cenicero vineyards. It was aged for 30 months in American oak, a very traditional process. What's even more interesting was that the 1982 vintage was just as good in Rioja as it was in Bordeaux.

After cracking this beauty open, it's actually delicate and relatively light. Lots of dried red berries and cherries. The palate is spicy but the tannins are silky smooth! There is so much going on here it's just crazy, the length is full of liquorice and cream! Just wow.

We didn't get a lot, it's not going to last, so get it while you can!
