Mas Comtal is another one of Plonk's direct wineries. They farm the 40-hectare site completely organically. The microclimate of the estate is Mediterranean with an altitude of 350m above sea level. The winery tasting room actually has a 2000-year-old Roman arch that was used by travellers to stop and refresh. From the vineyard, you can clearly see Montserrat.
We love Mas Comtal, Marta the owner is so in touch with her vines and wines that just always over-deliver in quality.
Antistiana wines are only made after exceptional harvests.
After fermentation the wine is aged on the lees for four months. Smooth and creamy Xarel·lo, the classic freshness and minerality of this variety (fennel, lemon), combined with ripe stone fruits.
Limited production, a mere 6,202 bottles made.
