Lobethal Road Shiraz 2018, where do we start! Located in the north-east corner of the Adelaide Hills region, the cellar door and Mount Torrens vineyard operate off-grid. Supplying its own water as well as solar power. The production kilometres are also minimal with the winery located 1km down the road. Vineyards management follows environmentally sustainable practices, making them one of our favourite producers.
Considered cool climate, at least by Australian standards, allows Lobethal Road to make wines with a delicate and restraint not often seen in Australia. Expressing Rhône Valley inspiration they were one of the first to plant Roussanne. Along with the Shiraz, we also shipped the Pinot Gris. Handcrafted, family-owned and small production. The wines we list give an amazing insight into the life of a vigneron that's driven by over-delivering in quality.
Lobethal Road Shiraz 2018 shows fresh red and blackberries, cloves and spice. fine tannin and a lick of oak with complex length. Perfect BBQ red or paired with cheese. Serve at cellar temperature.
