Continuing on our small-batch crusade, Beaujolais is a region you need to get around. Having been, or continuing to be under the shadow of Burgundy, means there are lots of small production outfits with great wine just begging to be found.
What we have here is a small blend of the villages in Beaujolais - Chiroubles, Morgon and Brouilly. Don't be fooled by the vintage either - this isn't Nouveau, this is serious. The fruit profile is pristine red cherry and forest fruits. The palate is smashable and vibrant, with so much juicy fruit it's crazy. Scented length with a lick of spice as the kicker.
For under £20 this is just a no brainer, food-friendly, complex, perfect balance and easy to drink. Serve at cellar temperature.
