The fruit for this Macabeo is sourced from 20-year-old, organically farmed vineyards. The vines are planted at 500 metres above sea level on north-facing slopes, along some respite for the grapes in the heat of the growing season. This gives way to a wine of ripeness and flavour, yet still with a freshness and drinkability.
The Castaño family have been pioneers in the Yecla DO in south-eastern Spain for several generations, staying true to their roots by operating almost exclusively with grapes native to the area.
