Domaine Romy Clos De La Chapelle Bourgogne 2018. coming off of a small property in Pierres Dorées. Located South of Beaujolais. Pretty classical and traditional processess and actually great value for money. Making this wine an easy case filler. The price generally of Burgundies can really smash your bank account. However, this parcel is a great intro to Chardonnay from its heartland.
Overall Bone dry with lots of richness and texture. Firstly, the aroma is classically restrained with hints of apples, grapefruit and honey. All these flavours carry on through to the palate. Secondly, its medium body has fantastic balance and texture.
For all the Chardonnay haters, this is a nice way to ease into the varietal. The Bourgognes oak influencers are subtle and restrained. Expressing a lot of nice fruit to make this fresh and juicy and not buttery at all.
