We will defend Chardonnay to the hill and back. This incredibly versatile grape got such a bad rep from awfully made examples (unbalanced, overly oaky and buttery) in the 90s. But its versatility, whilst a weakness in the wrong hands, is also its strengthen when in the right hands.
Here we have a wonderfully fruit forward, non-oaked beauty. Dry but full of flavour, and with a hint of texture to balance the acid.
A domaine that has been going since the late 1700s, making it one of the oldest on record in the Ardèche. Despite that longstanding history, there is nothing dated about the Dupré family. Working organically and with great respect of nature, they produce affordable yet delicious wines - just what we look for at Plonk.
Not only are they great winemakers, but they are winemakers who think ahead, and create wines that appeal to where consumer trends are heading, whilst still producing a finished product that is unmistakably Ardéchois.
