Domaine Combiers Beaujolais Elegance 2018. Village level Gamay from one hell of a producer. There is a lot to cover here so here are the basics. Method of production is carbonic maceration, without getting too geeky, this process gives juicier more quaffable tannins and fruit. Serve at cellar temperature (18 degrees) and you will find that 2 glasses is not enough.
The fruit profile is loaded with soft ripe black cherry, red plum and a lick of blackberry. Softer but juicier tannin and lots of texture. A total pizza wine this is why we love it really. If you are fond of a lighter body but juicy texture wine this is one of many carbonic maceration options and is actually great value. In our years of wine drinking, Domaine Combiers has never disappointed.
