Morgon often provides the most robust style of Gamay from Beaujolais, often akin to Burgundy Pinot. Charly makes use of carbonic maceration to also bring out a juicy element in the wine, and ages in concrete so as to not potentially mask the characteristics of the grape. There is plenty of flavour in the wine to pair with a roast of any variety.
True stalwarts and legends of Beaujolais, the Thévenet family has long been based in Villié-Morgon, in the heart of the region. Since 2007, Charly Thévenet has crafted several cuvées under his name in the Crus appellation of Régnié and Morgon.
