The vineyards of Château des Jacques are primarily located in Moulin-à-Vent, Morgon and Fleurie, in some the the region's best climats. Clos des Thorins is a lieu-dit of the Cru appellation of Moulin-à-Vent. Here the Gamay vines are spread out over richer, deeper granitic soils and a full exposure of the vines to the south is optimal.
All grapes are picked and sorted by hand, then mainly de-stemmed, with the grapes macerating slowly and gently over the course of 3-4 weeks. Indigenous yeasts are used throughout the fermentation period.
A wine of weight and substance, despite the association of Beaujolais / Gamay to lighter, thinner wines (all thanks to the Nouveau...).
