A A Badenhorst Papegaai White Blend 2019. A favourite of ours, crisp and fresh with an abundance of apples, lemon, pear and melons. A total banger, even more so when it's under £12.
Adi also donates a bit of cash with each bottle purchased. This goes to protecting the indigenous Parrot that's on the label. The processes here involve fermentation in concrete, lots of different parcels of fruit from numerous vineyards. Some are old bush vines, others youthful and trained.
There is a fair bit of pedigree in the winemaking here, as Adi did over 10 years at Rustenberg before setting up A.A. Badenhorst Family Wines. His range continues to overdeliver. What's really consistent is the care for the vines and wines, you can almost taste the passion and love. Which after all that's what wine drinking is all about, life's too short for bad wine.
